Making Rochester, NY More Dynamic and International

Tainan means "Southern City", just as Taipei means "Northern City." Not only is Tainan the oldest city in Taiwan, it is also technologically advanced. With four universities, including Cheng Kung University, and a substantial technology park.

Like Rochester, Tainan is active in photonics and biotech. In the biotech area the government plans to increase investment to have Taiwan become a "bio-medical" island.
